Long Stay VS Short Stay

We have two types of rental offer: Long Stay and Short Stay. Please note that Short Stay housing and Long Stay housing need seperate types of registration, but you should use the same SSH account for it. Let's have a look at the differences:

Registration

Via registration platform ROOM
Do you already have a Short Stay account? Please use the same email address to register with ROOM.
Via SSH website
Do you already have a Long Stay account? Login at SSHxl.nl to add a Short Stay registration.
Allocation

Based on registration time, including introduction night or viewing. We'll also check your proof of study/income.'First come, first serve' at specific booking data, but you need an approval from your educational institution

Cities

Utrecht a.e., Rotterdam, Zwolle, Tilburg, Amersfoort, GroningenUtrecht, Rotterdam, Zwolle, Tilburg, Groningen

Rental agreement
Campus contract (based on proof of enrolment or PhD contract) or youth contract (based on income)
Short Stay contract with mostly fixed period of 5, 10 or 12 months

Rent cancellation

 With a permanent rental agreement (campus contract, youth contract, permanent contract), you can cancel your rent any day of the month, subject to one month’s notice.Short Stay rent cancellation depends on the type of accommodation and the type of registration.

Leaving housemate

If a housemate moves out, the procedure depends on the type of accommodation (rooms / self-contained accommodation) and the method of allocation (introduction night / viewing)
If a housemate moves out, the current tenants have no involvement in the choice of a new housemate.
